Applications for Infrastructure Association of Queensland’s (IAQ) 2026 Future Infrastructure Leader Scholarship have now closed.
The 2026 scholarship recipient will receive up to $5,000 worth of tickets to attend important IAQ events throughout 2026. This includes important roundtables with our taskforces and working groups, industry breakfasts and keynote speaker presentations.
By attending these events with IAQ, the recipient will receive unmatched networking and professional development opportunities, whilst gaining critical knowledge and experience in Queensland’s infrastructure sector. They will be able to see, firsthand, the nexus between the private and public spheres, the challenges that arise and the solutions that are developed in response to them.

Nominations are now open and close 5 November 2025.
CRITERIA
To apply, or nominate a colleague for the Scholarship, ensure you/they meet the following criteria. The individual must:
- Have an Australian citizenship
- Have 3-8 years of experience in the infrastructure industry
- Work for an IAQ-member company
- Obtain or have a letter of recommendation from their employer
- Respond to the questions below via written or video format
There are no correct or incorrect answers to the following questions. The responses given will, however, need to be thoughtful, evidenced and insightful. The responses and candidates will be evaluated by three IAQ-appointed judges, who will decide on three finalists and one overall winner, who shall receive the Scholarship. The judges will be an IAQ Executive Committee member, and an industry and a government representative. The voting process is impartial and will consider each candidate with the same care and attention to detail.
QUESTIONS
The questions to be answered via written or video format are below. Note that the word and time limits listed are MAXIMUMS. If you are confident that you can answer the question quicker or with less words then you are welcome to do so.
1. Who are you (introduce yourself) and what drives you to pursue a career in infrastructure? Max 100 words / 1 minute video
2. Broadly, what impact do you want to have on Queensland and Australia’s infrastructure industry? Max 100 words / 1 minute video
3. What personal and professional qualities that you possess make you a compelling candidate for the Scholarship? Max 200 words / 1.5 minute video
4. What are the greatest opportunities and challenges facing Queensland’s infrastructure industry as we transition to net-zero and build up to the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games? Max 350 words / 2.5 minute video
5. IAQ’s mission is to build a thriving future for Queenslanders. Describe your bold vision for infrastructure in Queensland. Max 200 words / 1.5 minute video
