This webinar is intended to show how Circular Economy principles are already being integrated into a variety of projects at various scales, and in different project sectors via a selection of case studies.   It will include a Q&A session around how the integration of Circular Economy principles and the Sustainable Development Goals has changed in the COVID-impacted world we are now working in. This interactive livestream will be moderated by David Uhlmann, Director of Environment and Sustainability at Wolter Consulting Group.

Our expert speakers will discuss:

  • Jaine Morris – Coreo: Jaine will talk us through several of Coreo’s pioneering circular economy case studies where they are working to apply circular economy principles and business models at different scales in the built environment. From a community scale with Lendlease to a home scale with Mirvac, Jaine will talk to their work catalysing circular economy action here in Australia.
  • Damien Stacy – Queensland Investment Corporation: Damien will talk to how Sustainable Development Goals are shaping sustainable investment in shopping centre assets, as part of QIC’s pathway to net zero emissions by 2028.
  • Cheryl Desha – Griffith University: Cheryl will be presenting on some of Griffith University’s Research through the Cities Research Institute, in sustainable materials and waste management leading toward greener and more sustainable cities. This includes at-scale infrastructure considerations in closing the loop on food waste, and infrastructure opportunities in the context of local food resilience. It also includes thinking about wasted energy and the benefits of running an energy efficiency ruler over circular economy conversations.
